How much water do we need?
It is hot hot hot today in the UK so make sure you stay hydrated!
Your fluid requirement depends entirely on your energy requirements, which is determined by age, weight and activity level. However, we can roughly estimate the amount we need by drinking 1ml of water for every kcal you burn. So if you don't do much exercise and burn 2000 kcals a day (which is the average for women, 2500 for men) you need 2 litres or 3.5 pints of water a day.
